Carbon fiber has many excellent properties, such as high axial strength and modulus, low density, high specific performance, no creep, ultra-high temperature resistance in non-oxidation environment, good fatigue resistance, specific heat and electrical conductivity between non-metallic and metal, small coefficient of thermal expansion and anisotropy, good corrosion resistance, and good X-ray transmission. Nylon itself is an excellent engineering plastic, but it has high hygroscopicity and poor dimensional stability. The strength and hardness are also far less than metal. The use of carbon fiber reinforced nylon has been developing rapidly in recent years, because both nylon and carbon fiber are excellent materials in the field of engineering plastics. PA12, also known as polyamide 12. 

It is mainly polymerized with butadiene and belongs to semi-crystalline - crystalline thermoplastic material. Its properties are similar to PA11, but the crystal structure is different.

PA12 is a good electrical insulator and like other polyamides, it will not be affected by moisture. It has good impact resistance mechanical chemical stability, low water absorption, good wear resistance, good dimensional stability, easy molding and processing, excellent alkali resistance, oil resistance, alcohol, inorganic oleic acid and aromatics, not strong inorganic acid, chlorinated hydrocarbons, soluble in phenol.
