What is enhanced modification materials

What is enhanced modification?

The addition of fibrous materials to plastics can significantly increase the strength of plastic materials and can be referred to as reinforcement modification. Materials with large diameter to thickness ratio can significantly increase the flexural modulus (rigidity) of plastic materials, and can also be called reinforcement modification.

Glass fiber is the main reinforcing material and can significantly increase the tensile strength of PP plastics. It is generally believed that when the fiber length is greater than 0.2 mm, there is a modification effect, and the diameter of the glass fiber is better at a dozen micrometers. When the glass fiber content increases, the processing fluidity of the reinforced PP decreases correspondingly, but it is still a plastic with good fluidity.

Since glass fiber reinforced PP can improve mechanical strength and heat resistance, and glass fiber reinforced PP has good water vapor resistance, chemical resistance and creep resistance, and can be used as engineering plastics in many occasions, such as fan blades. Heater grille, impeller pump, lampshade, electric furnace and heater housing, etc. Carbon fiber is also a reinforcing material, because the price is high, and the current market use is significantly weaker than PP+glass fiber. However, there is still a market value in it.

Homopolymerized PP and copolymerized PP

  1. Homopolymer PP-polypropylene [size=-1] Homo-polymer polypropylene, referred to as PPH polypropylene PP homopolymer referred to as PPH, is a single propylene monomer polymer. Polypropylene (PP), which was commercialized as a thermoplastic polymer in 1957, is the first of its kind in stereoregular polymers. Its historical significance is even more reflected in that it has been the fastest growing major thermoplastic, with a total national production of 3 million tons in 2004. It has a wide range of applications in the field of thermoplastics, especially in fiber and filament, film extrusion, injection molding and so on.

Second, PP copolymer, Polypropylene Copolymer, abbreviated as PPC, is a copolymer of propylene monomer and ethylene monomer; according to the distribution of ethylene monomer in the molecular chain, copolymerized PP can be divided into random copolymer (PPR) and embedded Two kinds of copolymers (PPB). PPR has good rigidity, but its impact resistance is not good, especially low temperature impact resistance is poor, and creep resistance is poor. PPB has good impact resistance, but creep resistance is as bad as PPR. PPR has poor impact resistance and creep resistance.

Among the modified materials, there are also homopolymerized PP long glass fiber, long carbon fiber modified composite material, and copolymerized PP long glass fiber and long carbon fiber modified composite material. According to the different needs of customers' molded products, Xiamne LFT composite plastic Co.Ltd, the factory manufacturing and R&D center can be customized for you.

Household appliances / plastic pipes / auto parts The development of the automotive industry is inseparable from the process of automotive plasticization. At present, the self-sufficiency rate of engineering plastics in China is less than 16%. According to the prediction of China Engineering Plastics Association, the growth rate of engineering plastics demand in China is 15% in 2005, about 10% in 2010, and the demand will increase from 440,000 tons in 2000 to 1.4 million tons in 2010. The demand for engineering plastics in China's automobile manufacturing industry has grown rapidly. By 2010, the total consumption will reach 940,000 tons (in terms of plastics, which account for 5% to 10% of the weight of automobiles).

PP is used in the automotive industry with strong competitiveness, but because of its low modulus and heat resistance, the impact strength is poor, so it can not be directly used as auto parts. The modified PP products used in cars are resistant. The heat can be increased from 80 ° C to 145 ° C ~ 150 ° C, and can withstand high temperatures for 750 ~ 1000h without aging, no cracking. According to reports, Toyota's new generation of HEHCPP products with high orientation crystallinity can be used as automobile dashboards and bumpers, which can reduce the cost of similar products produced by TPO by 30%. Modified PP is used as a car. Accessories have a very broad development prospects.
